COLUMBIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ANNOUNCES BUSINESS GRANTS

Keith Lutz, President of the Columbia Economic Development Corporation announced that the organization will be providing grants to two Columbia businesses to assist with outdoor painting work to the façade of their property. The grants will be awarded on an annual basis. Applications for this year are open from September 15, 2022 to November 15, 2022. 

Lutz stated, “ This is the second of our grant opportunities for businesses in Columbia. The first was in April of this year when we award two grants for website development, and or advertising of their product or service.” “We will now introduce two $1,000 grants for businesses that qualify, to assist them with façade painting improvements”, Lutz said. 

Executive Director Bill Kloidt indicated that businesses operating in the Borough of Columbia can apply and they will then be reviewed by a three-member sub-committee of CEDC Board of Directors.” Kloidt also commented that, “ Our town is recreating itself with new stores, shops, and restaurants,  and CEDC is here to assist new and established businesses in this renaissance.” 

To be eligible, the applicant must provide  the following information:  The business’s mission statement, a description of the painting work to be performed on the building, a description of the product manufactured or service provided, the number of employees of the business, the year the business organized, their Business License, Employee Identification Number or Social Security Number if a DBA (Do Business As), most recent Federal  Income Tax Return of their business, estimate from painting company, along with the painting company’s business license and evidence of insurance.
