Welcome to Columbia: Columbia Animal Shelter
Columbia Animal Shelter
Columbia Animal Shelter is dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of at-risk companion animals while providing quality healthcare and adoption services. Their team is committed to participating in community collaborations and offering outstanding humane education opportunities to further our goal of a more humane community. They currently provide intake, adoption, and low cost spay/neuter, and wellness clinic services.
Columbia Animal Shelter is run by a board of directors with Mike McKonly as president, Keith Lutz as Vice President, and Tammy Loughlin Jalbert as the Executive Director.
Columbia Animal Shelter accepts intakes from Columbia Borough Adoption and is open to anyone, anywhere meeting the adoption criteria. They have a low cost wellness and spay/neuter clinic that is also open to anyone and is not tied specifically to being a Columbia Borough resident.
They are also always looking for volunteer staff!
The most satisfying component of this job is helping someone who thought they couldn't afford to keep their pet find ways to possibly prevent them from surrendering to our shelter. We also love seeing cats and dogs who have been here with us for a long period of time find a loving forever home!
